Located on the steps of the Basilica Santa Croce, the architectural jewel at the heart of the world famous Piazza Santa Croce, Florence’s annual Christmas market offers a shopping experience like no other.
Just moments from the Temple of Italian Glories, the final resting place of Italian icons Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli amongst others, after exploring the city’s top sites, a trip to the market offers visitors the perfect festive shopping opportunity. From unique gifts to buy for loved ones, to beautiful Christmas decorations to add some sparkle to the home, visitors will be spoilt for choice.
The market, returning for its 16th year, is set to be bigger and better than ever before with over 50 exhibitors selling goods from all over Europe, as well as gifts and trinkets from further afield.
If you have ever thought about popping over to Italy to do some Christmas shopping, Florence does it very well – and in such a beautiful location…
Overlooked by Giotto’s frescoes, the market was visited by more than 350,000 people last year and is set to be the must-visit attraction on the itinerary for any tourist visiting Tuscany this Christmas.
The annual Florentine Market is running from 30th November until 18th December 2016 and is organised by ANVA Confesercenti.
